Parental Involvement

Childcare Provider Leeds

There are so many ways a parent can engage and share knowledge of their child’s development.

Below are just a few examples:

  • We work in partnership with the family and your Health Visitor to complete your child’s 2-year development check.

  • Add comments and photographs to your child Learning Journey.

  • Attend 2 induction visits before your child starts at nursery.

  • Attend party days, open days, and ‘Stay and Play’ days we hold throughout the year.

  • Verbally share any information when you bring and collect your child.

  • Stay up to date by logging into your child’s Online Journal ( Tapestry) and visiting our Facebook page for updates on our activities during the week.
How we engage with families:
  • We will regularly add to your child’s Online Learning Journal to record their development and interests.

  • We complete a daily care diary on the Online Learning Journal and verbal updates for you when you collect your child at the end of their visit.

  • We use the memo facility on the Online Learning journals to update you on any events, letters or messages you may need.

  • We hold parents’ evenings throughout the year, along with termly updates on your child development.

  • When your child is ready for school, we complete their Transition Report. This enables their teacher to see what level they are currently working at so they can support your child more effectively when they start school.
